Team Durham Clubs

Home to 58 sports clubs and consistently ranked 3rd in the country for BUCS sport, Team Durham competes and wins at the highest levels of university competition year after year. Our clubs are made up of multiple teams competing across BUCS leagues and competitive non-BUCS fixtures, from national championships to regional leagues, welcoming athletes of every level and ambition. We are also home to the Palatinates - our weekend representative side who carry the Durham name into community!

College Sport

With 17 colleges each fielding their own teams across a huge variety of sports, our intercollegiate programme is the largest in the country - with over 650 teams competing for the chance to be crowned champions at our prestigious Floodlit Finals. We also compete in annual varsity competitions against Loughborough IMS and the University of York, with Team Durham holding the reigning title against York.

Community Sport

Sport at Durham is open to everyone. Our Sports and Wellbeing Park welcomes staff, students, and members of the public, with over 2,700 community users through our doors every week. We work alongside a wide range of local clubs, schools, and organisations - from Hartlepool United to the Low Vis Rowing Group - making sport accessible and impactful across Durham.
