Slater Fellowship
The Slater Fellowship is provided by University College and offers the post holder full board and accommodation for one University term and membership of University College’s Senior Common Room.
To be eligible for the post, applicants must hold a senior position at another University and have research interests that fall within the scope of IMEMS.

Professor Lisa Reilly

Lisa Reilly is the Commonwealth Professor of Architectural History and Director of Undergraduate Studies for Architectural History at the University of Virginia. Her most recent book is Norman Visual Culture: Art, Power & Dynastic Ambition (Cambridge University Press: 2020). During her fellowship, Professor Reilly will be developing the discussion of Durham in this book and previous articles as she prepares a chapter commissioned by the Durham Castle Research Group on Durham and the Romanesque for a forthcoming volume entitled “The Norman Chapel in Durham Castle: Architecture, History, Conservation.” Professor Reilly received her B.A. from Vassar College, her M.A. in Medieval Studies from the University of York and her Ph.D. in Art History from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU. She is currently writing a Corpus Vitrearum volume on the stained glass of the late medieval parish church, St. Michael le Belfrey, with Mary Shepard. In 2018, Lisa was awarded the Jefferson Scholars Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching. She held the NEH/Horace Goldsmith Distinguished Teaching Chair of Art and Architectural History (1999-2002). Ms. Reilly is a leading early user of digital humanities technology. She was the Fulbright Fellow in the History of Art at the University of York in 2015.
