If selected to go on an exchange by Durham, the Global Opportunities Team will nominate you to the partner. After your nomination is confirmed, you will need to apply to the partner to register with them.

• Fall Semester/Full Year: 9 May
• Spring Semester: 14 November

Programme Information

There is no direct credit conversion between UK and Mexican universities. Students typically enrol in up to 6 courses per semester, which usually amounts to around 30 ECTS. Each course is generally worth 6 UP credits. 

Academic Requirements

Courses from different programs, semesters and languages can be chosen. A combination of English and Spanish taught courses can be taken simultaneously. Credits listed for each course are in UP credits. Courses from different faculties can be taken as long as there are no prerequisites. Complimentary Spanish language courses are available at all levels for exchange students. Please see the course catalogue for more information.

Language Requirements 

There are some courses taught in English, please see the course catalogue for more information.

B2 Spanish is required for courses taught in Spanish. B2 English is required for courses taught in English.

Supporting Documents Required

If selected to go on an exchange by Durham, you will need the following documents:

• Signed terms and conditions
• Signed privacy notice             
• Reference letter issued by your home university. 
• Copy of the main page of your passport. 
• Personal Statement
• International Health insurance
• Copy of your visa once granted by the Mexican consulate (if applicable) 
• Proof of Spanish proficiency at a minimum level of B2 (CEFR) if you wish to study in Spanish and Spanish is not your first language.
• Proof of English proficiency at a minimum level of B2 (CEFR) if you wish to study in English and English is not your first language.

Accommodation

Universidad Panamericana does not offer on-campus housing, but they provide a list of accommodation options every semester to assist students in finding suitable place to stay. These options include host families, student housing or shared apartments. More information on housing is available on the website.

Other Information

Students must have international health insurance which must include:

• Repatriation of remains in the event of death.
• Medical benefits of at least USD $100,000 per accident.
• Medical expenses co-payment of no more than 25%.
• Medical assistance for COVID-19 included in medical expenses per illness.
