Senior Technology Transfer Manager

What do you do?

I work with Durham academics to convert their research into commercial applications. I’m a Senior Technology Transfer Manager and a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP). Prior to joining Durham, I worked for a private technology transfer company and spent twelve years in manufacturing and materials management, mainly at Rolls-Royce and in addition I have created over 20 new companies.

How are you involved in this area of science? 

I helped Rob’s project by securing patent applications and managing commercialisation agreements. 

What do you love about this topic?

I love seeing world leading science being used to solve real world problems and Rob's project is a prime example. 

How does this work deliver real-world impact?

The licence arrangements mean that external companies can raise the investment they need to apply Rob's technology to improve human health.
