Domestic Assistant (Fixed term)

St John’s College is inviting applications for the post of Domestic Assistant(Fixed term). The Domestic Assistant works as part of the Housekeeping team which is part of the wider Operations Directorate. The Housekeeping team has responsibility for the college’s cleanliness and presentation across the estate.

Housekeeper

Grade (St John’s College Graded Pay Scale) 

Grade 1

Salary: 

Currently £12.75 per hour / £16,077 per annum

Working arrangements: 

Part time: 24.25 hours per week
Fixed term: 18/05/2026–14/05/2027

5 days per week across Monday–Saturday

Holidays: 

27 days annual leave plus statutory holiday and University customary days

Closing date: 

13 April 2026

Resident Tutors

We are now inviting applications for the position of Resident Tutor for the academic year 2026–27. Applications are open to current postgraduate students who will hold membership of St John’s College during the 2026–27 academic year.

OVERVIEW

Resident Tutor

Responsible to:

Vice Principal’s Office staff

Responsible for:

First-line response to out-of-hours incidents and emergencies as part of a duty rota. Contributing to the development and delivery of student enrichment activities.

Working alongside:

Other Resident Tutors; St John’s College staff teams.

 

Contract type:

Fixed term, 1 September 2026 – 31 August 2027

The deadline for applications is 5:00pm on Sunday 19 April 2026. Interviews are provisionally scheduled for Friday 8 May 1:00-5:00pm.

 

Salary:

N/A

Other payments:

£1,500 per annum on call allowance; £20 for additional day cover during College closures with casual grade 3 rate paid for closure daytime call outs only.

Free accommodation in College; meals in College during undergraduate term time only.
